New Study Group
Beginning on Monday, March 15, the Rector, Bevan Stanley, will be offering a course on thinking clearly about our faith. We will be using the text of the little book he wrote while on Sabbatical a year and half ago, The Love of God. We will cover a wide variety of topics such as:
If God is not an old man sitting on a cloud, how do we think about God?
What is a human being?
If God knows everything, why bother praying?
What about evil?
If I can talk to God any time and any place, why is church important?
How do I become a better person?
What should do with the Bible?
How do religious faith and science relate to each other?
Most of all we want this to be safe place where we can address you real questions and issues. There will be opportunities for you to bring your own issues up for discussion and investigation.
We will meet via Zoom until we can meet in person. The sessions will begin at 7 p.m. and last one hour. They will include a short presentation by the Rector of fifteen to twenty minutes followed by conversation. The first session will be introductory.
