This month our bags included: ½ gallon milk, pound of butter, ground beef, fresh carrots, coffee, peanut butter, tuna fish, baked beans, pinto or other beans, soups, “complete” pancake mix (only add water), canned fruit or applesauce, English muffins, Goldfish crackers.
As Pantry week progressed, each day brought a glorious bounty of produce deliveries by Food Rescue and others, notably from Arethusa, Vibrant and Wild Carrot Farms and Hallock Orchards. With that partnership and assistance, we were able to distribute peppers, eggplants, kale, scallions, apples, tomatoes, bok choy and much more!
We are so grateful for the addition of fresh picked farm produce to the other food which we purchased with support from so many of you.
Ann and our bagging and delivery volunteers deserve special thanks this month for their efforts.
Our household count rebounded from last month to the high end of levels seen prior to the pandemic.
In addition to the bags loaded into cars, a total of 20 bags were delivered this month to Wells Run, Tannery Brook and Bantam Falls to seniors who were unable to come on their own.
